Identity Verification Notice

Why some bookings need a quick ID check, exactly what we keep (only your name, date of birth and the last 4 digits of your ID number), and your choices.

Version 1.1 · Effective 8 October 2026

1. About this notice

This is the notice we are required to give you under Section 5 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 before asking for your consent to verify your identity. It supplements our Privacy Policy (pullupnow.in/legal/privacy). You see a short version of it in the app before you start.

2. When verification is needed

  • Only for cover-charge tickets: tickets that include a cover charge, which is usually redeemable against drinks.
  • Every person on such a booking must verify, including friends on a group or couple booking. Friends verify through their own personal link, on the web or in the app.
  • No payment can start until everyone on the booking has been verified.
  • You never need to verify to create an account or to buy an ordinary ticket.

3. Why we verify

  • To confirm that each person meets the legal drinking age required for a ticket that includes alcohol, as required by state excise laws.
  • To lock each person’s verified name onto their ticket, so that door staff can match it to their photo ID and tickets can’t be passed on.
  • To prevent fraud, ticket touting and the use of other people’s identities.

We use the result only for these purposes and never for marketing.

4. How it works

  • You start verification from the booking or from Profile → ID verification. A secure page from our verification partner, Didit (didit.me), opens.
  • You take a photo of one original government ID: for example, an Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, driving licence or voter ID. No selfie is needed.
  • Didit checks that the document looks genuine and reads the name and date of birth from it, then sends you straight back to PullUp.
  • PullUp checks that the verified name reasonably matches the name on the booking and that the verified date of birth meets the age required.
  • When you verify for your own account, your PullUp name and date of birth are updated to match your ID and can no longer be edited, so the age rules and the name on your tickets always follow your real ID. If your ID shows you are under the platform minimum age, the account is closed.
  • One ID can verify only one PullUp account.

5. What we keep

  • Your full name as printed on the ID.
  • Your date of birth.
  • The last 4 digits of the ID number (for example, XXXX-XXXX-1234), so the same ID can’t be used for several accounts.
  • The time of verification, the verification reference and the expiry date.

That is all. PullUp never stores a photo or copy of your ID, your full ID number, your address, your gender or any biometric information, and our servers never download your ID photo.

6. What Didit processes

Didit receives the photo of your ID and extracts the details printed on it in order to check it. It acts as our data processor, only on our instructions. As soon as your check is approved and we have saved the details above, we instruct Didit to delete the photo and everything it extracted. If a check is not completed or is declined, Didit keeps that session under its own retention policy so the result can be reviewed; you can ask us to have it deleted. Didit may process your data outside India, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Who sees it

  • You can see your current verification in the app.
  • For your bookings, the Host’s door staff see that you are verified, your verified name and your age calculated from your date of birth. They never see your ID number or date of birth in full.
  • The person who made a group booking sees whether each member is verified, has a name mismatch or does not meet the age requirement. They do not see anyone’s date of birth or ID details.
  • Our support and trust and safety team, only when necessary to resolve a dispute or investigate fraud.

8. How long we keep it

A verification can be reused for your later bookings for 365 days, then it expires and you will need to verify again. If you delete your account, your verification is revoked immediately. The verification record is kept only for as long as needed to show that a booking met the legal age requirement, alongside the booking record it supports, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Your choices

  • Verification is voluntary. If you choose not to verify, you can still use PullUp and buy ordinary tickets, but you cannot buy tickets that require verification.
  • You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing operations@pullupnow.in. We will revoke your verification. This does not affect tickets already issued, which remain valid with the verified name locked on them.
  • You can ask to access or correct your verification data. If the details read from your ID are wrong, you can verify again with a clearer photo or a different ID, or contact us.
